FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Clear answers about privacy, authentication, browser support and the RookPDF roadmap.

Does RookPDF upload my documents?

No. Supported RookPDF tools read the file you choose into temporary browser memory and process it on your device. RookPDF does not send PDF contents to a conversion server, create a public document link or add the file to cloud storage. The original document remains unchanged and the browser downloads a new result.

Why does RookPDF ask me to sign in?

Sign-in is optional for the core tools. An account can support profile details and interface preferences, but it is separate from document processing and is never used as a PDF library. Choosing a file does not attach that file, its name or its contents to the signed-in account.

Can I use RookPDF without signing in?

Yes. Guest Mode lets you open the public tool pages and run supported local PDF operations without creating an account. Signing in is only for optional profile and preference features. Whether you are a guest or signed in, supported document operations follow the same browser-local processing boundary.

Which browser features are required?

RookPDF uses standard browser capabilities such as File, Blob, ArrayBuffer, canvas rendering and local downloads. Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox are recommended. No extension is required. Very large or image-heavy documents may work better on a desktop device with more available memory.

Is pricing available?

All currently published core PDF tools are free to use without a required signup. Paid plans are not being sold yet. The pricing and premium preview pages describe planned options and are excluded from search indexing until checkout, billing and the advertised benefits are fully available.

What file types and limits are supported?

Each tool page lists the formats it accepts and any operation-specific limitations. PDF, JPG, PNG and selected document formats are supported depending on the workflow. Because processing happens on the device, the practical limit depends on page count, image resolution, file complexity and the memory available to the browser.

Do analytics or ads receive information from my PDF?

No. Analytics and advertising are separate from document processing and never receive PDF contents, extracted text or file names from RookPDF. Optional analytics and AdSense code load only after the visitor accepts the site's consent choice. The Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy describe the providers and browser storage involved.

What should I check before sharing a result?

Open the downloaded result and verify page order, orientation, text clarity, metadata and any password settings. Complex conversions can require manual cleanup even when processing completes successfully. For confidential material, use an approved sharing service and send a document password through a separate communication channel.

RookPDF is built for everyday document tasks where privacy matters: contracts, invoices, reports, forms and scanned records. Core tools work without an account, and supported files are processed in browser memory rather than uploaded to a RookPDF conversion server.
